A Tradition of Pizza in Whittier
The Original Barro’s Pizza family recipes go back prior to the 1971 opening of our Whittier restaurant. Today, we still use those same family secret recipes for both the signature dough for the thick & fluffy crust and the unforgettable tangy-sweet pizza sauce.
Well known in the community, Barro’s Pizza has always believed in giving back by sponsoring community activities including our most recent computer game tournaments called “Barro’s Beatdowns”, which allow Whittier’s youth to gather, play computer games & meet new people, while enjoying our pizza, sides & drinks… Yum-Yum!!

Early success leads to steady local expansion. The family focuses on consistency, community service, and maintaining the original recipes while serving growing demand.
1976 — Family Expansion Continues
Angelo Barro joins John and Angelina in California, strengthening operations and helping support additional store growth.
Late 1970s — Regional Development
Additional Southern California locations open as the family builds a more structured multi-store operation while keeping hands-on family management.
Early 1980s — Blueprint Established
The California model becomes the foundation for future expansion into Arizona, shaping how new locations are opened and managed.
